Independent JPEG Group.
This Group of programmers have produced an excellent library for loading
and saving images stored in JPEG image format. I used this Library in
BlueBell & TSImageMapper it's good. You'll be suprised by the number of commercial
applications that have their JPG support underpinned with this ... checkout IE's
about menu option.
Portable Network Graphics.
The patent applied to GIF's compression algorithm stiffled innovation and
blocked small developer out of the market - that's my opinion and is the reason why
TS-ImageMapper does'nt have GIF support. The PNG group of programmers came to the
rescue with the PNG format, it's a much better format than GIF and it can do a lot more.

they're both sugar coated - sorry.
PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor.
PHP is loosely
typed, meaning basically that a variable is both variable in value and type.
In my opinion loosely type languages are difficult to manage and i usually steer
well clear of them. I was a bit apprehensive
about using PHP on this site because of this. However compared to c++ programs, scripts
are tiny and it turns out that the loosely typed approach works quite well.
Borland Compilers.
These are the best compilers for C and C++. We use these compilers exclusively to
compile all our C&C++ programs. If more people would use their compilers Inprise could drop its prices
and there would be better standards, competition, world peace and functional operating systems
- well there might be. Oh, Borland are giving away copies of their 5.5 compiler without the IDE.
